A message from Christine……..

Hello and welcome to my website, DISCOVER Counselling Services.   I am a registered Social Worker with the Australian Association of Social Workers.  I hold a Bachelor of Applied Science (Psychology) and a Masters of Social Work.  I am also registered with the Australian Counsellors Association (level 4).  I believe that everyone has the right to live a happy and fulfilling life. To feel good about themselves and have the confidence to achieve their goals.  My goal is to assist clients to identify the barriers that are holding them back from achieving this.  Helping them to develop the strategies they need to overcome or manage these effectively.

I have extensive experience in individual and group based counselling.  Since 1997 I have assisted young people and adults to manage a range of mental health, developmental and personal issues that have impacted on their lives.  I have also assisted individuals who have wanted to improve their communication and social skills to build their social supports and maintain healthy relationships.

I am experienced in working with individuals diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder. Assisting them to understand their condition and develop the skills they need to successfully navigate their environment. As a parent of a child diagnosed with Aspergers, I understand the challenges this can have on the individual and the family unit as a whole.  I also know just how important it is to have access to the right kind of support.  Through education and tailored intervention I can assist individuals and families feel better equipped to manage the challenges as they arise.
